BOONE – The Pride of Iowa girls hit the links Monday for the POI Championship at Honey Creek Golf Course. East Union was crowned champions as the Eagles scored a 445 as a team.
Quinn Eslinger shot a 99 for EU, shooting a 52 on the front nine and a 47 on the back nine. Her day was second best to medalist Kristin Schaff of Central Decatur, who shot a 79.
The Eagles also had quality scores from Anna Collins and Lauren Hadley, shooting 112 and a 114, respectively. On top of Eslinger, Collins and Lauren Hadley had top-10 finishes in the field.
Abby Harper also shot a 120 for the Eagles, scoring a 60 on both side of the course.
Nodaway Valley’s Megan Russell led the Wolverines with a third place score of 105. Paisley Kintigh and Corinne Bond shot a 136 and a 146, respectively.
Mount Ayr’s Kaitlyn Dolecheck and Melaina Haley both shot a 113, placing sixth and seventh. Close behind them was Elise Schafer (116) and Abbi Haley (117).
Mount Ayr’s day on the course earned it a second place finish at 459.
Lenox’s top four scored a 483, a third place finish.
Chelsey Hoakison’s 106 was the team best for the Tigers. Austen David was the second best for Lenox, shooting a 115 and Jordan England’s 129 was the third best.
Southwest Valley’s Aubrey Boswell led the Timberwolves with a 116 score, best for 11th place.
Abbie Wetzel’s day concluded at 129, a stroke better than her teammate Sydney Westlake’s 130.
