Boys’ middle school track finds success

The Nodaway Valley middle school boys have been busy of late on the track circuit.

Audubon:

Doug Berg picked up a couple of high finishes in distance running. He earned second in the 1600m and fourth in the 800m run. Berg also added a fourth place finish in the high jump.

Third place finishes went to Avery Phillippi in the discus and the 4x100m shuttle hurdle team of Blake Lund, Boston DeVault, Zack Gebbie and Phillippi. The distance medley team of Dawson Nelson, DeVault, Dax Kintigh and Berg also finished third.

Zack Gebbie took fourth in the 200m hurdles. Fifth place finishes went to the 4x100m team of Aiden Kuster, Xander Hogan, Levi Gettler and Bryant Kuster.

Sixth place honors went to Zack Gebbie in the 100m dash and the 4x800m team of Kintigh, Malachi Broers, Devin Hawley and Nelson.

West Central Valley:

The Wolverines had several excellent performances at the West Central Valley meet.

Berg took first in the 800m (2:33.74) and the 1600m (5:40.81). Zack Gebbie broke the tape in the 100m hurdles (17.29). Other first place finishes went to the 4x800m team of Kintigh, Broers, Hawley and Nelson (11:04.12) and the shuttle hurdle team of Kintigh, Bradley Gebbie, DeVault and Zack Gebbie (1:15.15).

The distance medley team of Nelson, DeVault, Kintigh and Berg placed second. Phillippi also took silver in the discus.

The 800m-sprint medley team of Bryce Berlau, Tristan Randol, Bradley Gebbie and Hawley placed third. Berg was third in the high jump, while DeVault was third in the 100m hurdles. Zack Gebbie and Nelson finished third respectively in the 100m dash and the 800m run.

Fourth place finishes went to Broers in the 1600m run. The 4x100m team of Randol, Berlau, Mason Wilson and Hawley took fourth, as did the 4x200 team of Bradley Gebbie, Berlau, Wilson and Randol.

Sixth place honors went to Randol in the discus and Zack Gebbie in the long jump.

Nodaway Valley finished third at West Central Valley.

East Union:

The Wolverines finished second overall in the team standings.

Blake Lund (16:02) and Zack Gebbie went one-two in the 100m hurdles, while the 4x100m team of Kintigh, Bradley Gebbie, DeVault and Lund also took top honors (1:12.24).

The 4x800m team of Kintigh, Broers, Hawley and Nelson took second. Phillippi grabbed the silver in the discus. Berg was second in both the 800m and 1600m runs.

Third place finishes went to the 4x200m team of Randol, Bradley Gebbie, Nelson and DeVault. Phillippi was third in the 400m, while Broers was third in the 1600m run. Zack Gebbie was third in the 200m hurdles. Berg was third in the high jump. Another third place finish went to the distance med team of Bradley Gebbie, DeVault, Kintigh and Berg.

Fourth place finishes went to the 4x800m team of Nelson, Broers, Berlau and Hawley and the 800m-sprint med team of Berlau, Wilson, Randol and Hawley. Lund was fourth in the 200m hurdles.

Phillippi took fifth in the 200m, as did Randol in the shot put.

Sixth went to the 4x100m team of Randol, Bradley Gebbie, Nelson and DeVault. Brandon Raasch took sixth in the shot put.
