Sheila Hamilton

Sheila Irene Hamilton, 69, of Lawson, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at Menorah Medical Center.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, at Hidden Valley Funeral Home in Kearney, Missouri, with the service following. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Heart Association.

Sheila was born Oct. 8, 1949, in Clarke County to Paul Issac and Evelyn Irene (Ramsey) Simmerman. She was married Aug. 27, 1967, to her only true love, Larry Hamilton, in Weldon.

Sheila graduated from Indian Hills Community College in May 1976, with a Licensed Practical Nursing degree. She cared for her patients like they were family. She practiced nursing at Decatur County Hospital, Leon Nursing Home, Creston Hospital, Excelsior Springs Hospital and Excelsior Springs Convalescent Center, where she retired Dec. 31, 2017.

Sheila is survived by her husband Larry Hamilton of Lawson, Missouri; sons, Shawn Hamilton of Lawson, Missouri, and Lonnie (Alesia “Gator”) Hamilton of Savannah, Missouri; mother-in-law Evelyn Eastin of Leon; sister Sherry Chumbley of Osceola; brother Steve (Chris) Simmerman of Osceola; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary (Janis) Eastin of Leon; granddaughters, Ashley Kessler, Alexandria, Abigail and Isabella Hamilton; great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Aubry Kessler; and several great-nieces and -nephews.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Evelyn Simmerman; and father-in- law Paul Eastin.

Sheila was a loving wife, mother and friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed fishing, knitting/crocheting, ceramics, hosting sleepovers with her granddaughters and spending time with family. Sheila had a patient, quiet demeanor and loving heart. Her memory will live on forever in those who loved her most.
