Harold Haag, 88, of Orient died Thursday, April 11, 2019, at Greenfield Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Greenfield.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, at Orient United Methodist Church with burial in Greenfield Cemetery. The Rev. Cathy Nutting will officiate. A luncheon will be held at the church following the committal services. Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. Monday, April 15, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Steen Funeral Home, 101 SE Fourth St., in Greenfield. Harold Eugene Haag, son of Carl and Dorothy (Sheehan) Haag, was born Oct. 27, 1930, east of Zion in Adair County. Harold was raised in Adair County, attended grade school at Lee No. 5 and graduated from Zion High School in 1948.

On June 10, 1951, he married Shirley Ann Burkholder in the Hill of Zion Church. Harold farmed his entire life in Adair County.

Harold was a member of Orient United Methodist Church, Orient School Board, Orient Lion’s Club, Orient Masonic Lodge and Za-Ga-Zig Shriners, and a past conservation officer.

Harold is survived by his wife Shirley Haag of Orient; children, Susan (LeRoy) Greenlee of Orient, Robert (Gingi) Haag of Orient and Sheryl Hanson of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
