Zola Genieve Estes, 98, of Osceola died Friday, Jan. 4, 2019.
Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 13, at Maple Hill Cemetery. The family will meet friends 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13, at Osceola United Methodist Church following the graveside service. Memorials can be made to Osceola Public Library. Zola, daughter of Elsie Miles and James Lathrum, was born near St. Charles.
In 1942, she married Dwight Estes. They lived most of their lives in Osceola. When Dwight was serving in the Pacific during WWII, Zola worked in an ordnance plant. She also worked for Kimmel’s Little Store and Furnas Electric.
Zola is survived by her daughters, Diane (Frank) Olsen of Cedar Rapids and Bonnie (Larry) Goodvin of Corning; grandchildren, Tracy Bull-Spurrier, Richard Goodvin and Susan Sevcik; and great-grandchildren, Lotus, Spencer, Addison, Emma and Avery.
Zola was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Dwight, and siblings, Lester, Loyd, Hazel, Ivan and Doyle.
