Opera house offers season pass

CORNING – Corning Opera House Cultural Center offers six shows included in a season pass for $115, a savings of $35. The season pass can be purchased online at www.corningoperahouse.com or the individual prices listed below include advance or day of show prices. All season shows start at 7 p.m.

The first show features some of Iowa’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame stars in the Union County Trio – Hillyard, Sullivan and Pierson on Jan. 25. Adults are $10/$15 and students are $3/$8. The Union County Trio can be found on Facebook.

Country songwriter/singer Tom Wurth will be Feb. 9. His latest album, A Different Soul, features Vince Gill. Adults are $23/$28 and students are $5/$10. For more information on Wurth, go to his website www.tomwurth.com.

One of the opera house's most popular shows, Sail On, A Beach Boys Tribute from Nashville, is returning March 7. Adults are $25/$30 and students are $5/$10. Sail On's website is www.sailonsounds.com.

Coming from Branson is Diana Lynn’s Carpenters Once More, Tribute to Karen Carpenter on May 10. Adults are $20/$25 and students are $12. Several of her videos can be found on YouTube.

A Salute to Conway and Loretta, performed by their grandchildren Tre Twitty and Tayla Lynn will be Aug. 31. Adults are $22/$27 and students are $5/$10. Videos are on YouTube or the website for Tayla at www.taylalynn.com, and Tre Twitty can be found on Facebook.

The final 2019 season show is Chad Elliott and The Redemptions on Sept. 14. Elliott mixes blues, jazz, gospel and folk in his songwriting. Adults are $20/$25 and students are $5/$10. His website is www.chadelliott.net.

The monthly opry shows will continue throughout 2019 on Sunday afternoons from 2 to 5 p.m. for $8 per person or $15 per couple. The dates are Jan. 20, Feb. 24, March 24, April 28, May 19, June 23, July 21, Aug. 25, Sept. 22, Oct. 27, Nov. 17 and Dec. 15. Dancing on hard wood floor is available and special guests will be announced throughout the year.
