CORNING – Corning Opera House Cultural Center Christmas Afternoon Delight program will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, for $8 per person. Enjoy sparkling songs of the season presented at the piano by Michael Philipsen. Put yourself in the Christmas mood as you listen to the piano stylings, and sing along with a few carols.
Michael is retired from the music department of Indian Hills Community College and currently the director of music at First United Methodist Church, both in Ottumwa. Philipsen is the husband of Corning native Marva Steffen Philipsen and son-in-law of Marvin Steffen.
