The Iowa General Federation of Women’s Clubs, GFWC/Iowa, is the proud sponsor of a scholarship program unique to the state of Iowa.
Each year, thousands of dollars are awarded to graduating high school seniors who will attend post secondary schools. Scholarships are awarded based on community volunteerism and achievement. Both males and females are eligible. Scholarships range from $500 to $1,000.
There are designated scholarships to be awarded for those planning to study music or for students studying at junior colleges or technical schools. An unrestricted undergraduate is also available.
Request a packet as soon as possible, as a letter or page about yourself and letters of reference will need to be enclosed with the completed application packet. Scholarship packets are available from guidance counselors at Creston Community and East Union High schools. Contact Linda Huffman at 641-782-5517 for more information or to schedule an interview by Jan. 24. Scholarships are sponsored by the GFWC/Iowa Progressive Chautauqua Circle Study Club in Creston.
