Montelle Lewis Chew, 74, of Murray died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
Services were 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., in Osceola, with the Rev. Brian McCracken and the Rev. Marty Burgus officiating. Visitation with family present was from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at the funeral home. Interment was in Murray Cemetery. Montelle Lewis Chew, "Monty," son of Cecil Montelle Chew and Mildred Elfrieda (Reeves) Chew, was born Dec. 3, 1943, in Murray. Monty was a lifetime resident of the Murray area, and he graduated from Murray High School.
On May 5, 1963, Monty married Karen Anne Smith Chew at Murray. He was a farmer and a rural mail carrier in Murray for 28 years.
Monty was a member of Murray Lions Club for more than 50 years, Murray Church of Christ and Murray Cemetery trustee board.
Monty is survived by his wife Karen of Murray; daughter Stephanie (Steve) Sandquist of Osceola; sons, Monty (Sherri) Chew of Murray and Cory Chew of Murray; sister Beverly (Russell) Roberts of Truro; grandchildren, Jenna Elizabeth (Kyle) Hintz, Levi Lewis Sandquist, Hailey Marie Chew, Jayda Elizabeth Chew, Keegan Montelle Chew, Josie Alaina Chew and Kiera Ann Chew; as well as other relatives and many friends.
Monty was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Mildred Chew.
