Library to host Nancy Trask on ‘Iowa’s Own Monuments Man’

At 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, the Gibson Memorial Library in Creston will host Nancy Trask, founder of the George Stout Fellowship for Art in the Public Sphere. The title of her talk, which draws on family interviews and local sources, is “Iowa’s Own Monuments Man: George Stout.”

Stout, a Winterset native, was the inspiration for George Clooney’s character in “The Monuments Men.” Trask is retired from the Winterset Public Library, where she was director from 2004-16.
