DNV GL, a quality, risk management company visits GRH

DNV GL (Det Norske Veritas Germanischer Lloyd), a globally leading quality assurance and risk management company visited Greater Regional Health recently completing their third annual survey. DNV GL helps companies to become safer, smarter and greener. They are a partner for safer healthcare, providing quality driven accreditation and clinical excellence certifications to America’s hospitals.

DNV GL’s accreditation program for critical access hospitals employs the proven NIAHO standards and a highly collaborative survey process. Surveys are conducted annually, and procedures are tied to the specific CMS Conditions of Participation for critical access hospitals.

The surveyors commented frequently on how clean the facility was, how engaged and friendly the team was when they interacted with them and how strong the quality structure is.

“At every position from housekeeping, food service, maintenance, nurses to administration they have created an environment where some of the most talented medical professionals move Greater Regional Health to an elite status, not just in Iowa, but one of the top rural hospitals in the United States,” said board chair, Dave Driskell.

Greater Regional will now prepare for their ISO accreditation survey in 2019. GRH is proud of everyone on their team and their hard work in preparing for this survey.

“Having DNV GL onsite and hearing the feedback from them reestablishes our commitment to providing the highest quality of health care and services in southwest Iowa,” said Monte Neitzel, CEO of GRH. “These results are possible because of our outstanding talent that GRH has from our medical staff to our employees and the support from the board of trustees. Having an experienced and exceptional team at our facility allows us to put focus on the quality and care for our patients.”
