This October, Creston Automotive and Stalker Chevrolet in Creston and Glendenning Motor Company in Mount Ayr are partnering with United Farmers Cooperative to ask drivers to choose E15 and help prevent breast cancer.
The dealerships will feature rearview mirror tags and fuel door stickers highlighting the health and environmental benefits of E15. They are encouraging new vehicle owners to help fight breast cancer by choosing the cleaner fuel when filling up as part of the annual Pink at the Pump campaign.
United Farmers Cooperative, 304 N. Osage Street, in Creston and 403 E. South St. in Mount Ayr are participating in Pink at the Pump and will display pump signs highlighting Creston Automotive, Stalker Chevrolet’s and Glendenning Motor Company’s support of E15.
Pink at the Pump is a campaign to raise money for breast cancer research and support services as well as increase consumer awareness of the health benefits of E15. United Farmers Cooperative will donate three cents for every gallon of E15 sold during October to The Hormel Institute and National Breast Cancer Foundation. Pink at the Pump is a partnership between Iowa Renewable Fuels Association (IRFA) and Iowa Corn Promotion Board.
“E15 is the cleanest-burning fuel choice available to all 2001 and newer vehicles,” said IRFA Managing Director Lucy Norton. “We are excited to partner with Iowa auto dealers and retailers to help educate drivers about this cleaner fuel choice that reduces the amount of toxic, cancer-causing chemicals in the air.”
E15 is a fuel blend containing 15 percent ethanol, just five percent more ethanol than E10, the most commonly used fuel in the U.S. E15 is approved for all 2001 and newer vehicles.
