Spartan men cross country 8th at Grinnell

NV alum Wallace finishes 13th for Central

GRINNELL — Southwestern’s men’s cross country squad came in eighth out of 19 scoring squads at Friday’s 57th Les Duke CC Invite at Grinnell College.

Cedrick Watson continued his momentum from being SWCC’s top runner as a freshman at the Region XI time trial, and finished 18th overall Friday in a time of 27:33, with the winning time being 25:30.

Greenfield natives sophomore Shane Breheny and freshman Skyler Rawlings, third and sixth for the Spartans, respectively, both finished in the top half of the field overall.

Atlantic's Phoenix Shadden took 55th overall and finished second for the Spartan men. 
NV alum Brycen Wallace finished 13th overall for Central College.

The SWCC women finished 15th out of the 16 teams, led by Heather Jessen in 41st in a time of 26:10.
