For many, Sunday dinners with family are an Iowa tradition. That special meal was the inspiration for the Sunday dinner at Mom’s competition Aug. 12 at the 2018 Iowa State Fair.

Contestants were challenged to create a ribbon winning main dish, side dish, dessert and snack that would be served at a family Sunday dinner.

Judy Kiburz-Harrison of Tingley claimed second place overall and $50, and also place first in dessert (adult and youth).

Entries were judged on taste, story and appearance.
