After nearly a decade of running a successful salon, Trinity Salon and Day Spa in Greenfield, Melissa Ford thought it was time to expand.
Trinity Salon and Day Spa, opening its second location at 201 W. Adams St., is an Aveda Salon offering a full range of services for hair, skin and body.
“We offer all of the hair services you can imagine: cuts, colors, fashion colors, perming, smoothing services like Brazilian blowout,” said Ford.
Ford said one of her stylists, Josh Cunningham of Leon, specializes in balayage and natural highlighting. Other services include hair, manicures, pedicures, facial waxing, massage and facials offered by Ford, Roxanna Padilla of Creston and Candy Stuhr and Stephanie Tipling of Greenfield.
Aveda
Initially, Ford originally chose to partner with Aveda because of their “point of difference.”
“They offer their stylists so much education, and it’s so structured as a salon owner to help me understand how to be successful and sustainable,” said Ford.
However, Ford said when she started Trinity Salon and Day Spa, she also wanted it to be an experience.
“It’s not ‘sit down and get a hair cut,’ it’s ‘sit down and get a neck massage and get a good shampoo. You get your hair styled at the end and your stylist is going to tell you how to do your hair ... so, it is a full experience,” said Ford. “The experience is something Aveda is big on.”
Aveda – a reputable name in the salon and skincare industry – is focused on offering services utilizing its naturally derived and cruelty-free skin, hair and body products.
“Their products are very natural,” said Ford. “They focus on clean air, clean energy and giving back to our environment. For me, that’s a huge thing because not every company can say that.”
