Sports brief: Driskell earns academic all-state

Jaden Driskell of Creston baseball picked up another postseason honor, this time from the IHSBCA, getting named to the second team academic all-state team.

The award is handed out to senior athletes nomiated by their coaches for demonstrating outstanding academic, moral and athletic characteristics. Fourty-four players across the state received the award.

Trevor Thornburgh of Interstate 35 was named to the first team academic all-state list.
