Robert Larry Boles, 66, of Osceola died Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at Clarke County Public Hospital in Osceola.
Funeral services were 10 a.m. Friday, June 8, at Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 103 NE Mill St., in Leon with the Rev. Rick Hawkins officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Lamoni. Online condolences may be left at www.sladefuneralhome.com.
Robert Larry Boles, son of Russel Doyle and Mary Ermal (Mendenhall) Boles, was born Jan. 2, 1952, in Osceola. Bob grew up north of Grand River, and graduated from Grand Valley High School in 1970.
On June 24, 1972, Bob married June Ann Jackson. He opened Boles Implement Company in Lamoni after having worked at the Used Equipment Center in Colo before that. After 16 years, the family left Lamoni and moved to Jackson, Minnesota, where Bob was national parts distribution manager at Ag-Chem. They lived there for 17 years, before moving to Osceola in 2005.
He was president of the Lamoni Fair Board and member of Lamoni School Board. He also volunteered on the fire department.
Bob is survived by his wife June Boles of Osceola; daughter Crystal (John) Cleary of Golden Valley, Minnesota; son Alex Boles of Lubbock, Texas; grandchildren, Cullen and Samantha Cleary; brothers, Ron “Ripper” (JoAnn) Boles of Grand River and Rod (wife Brenda Osborn) Boles of Lamoni; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, infant son Aaron in 1974 and brother Richard Boles in 2001.
