GREENFIELD – The 47th Pentel International Children’s Art Exhibition makes its annual appearance at the Warren Cultural Center (WCC) Lobby Gallery during the month of June. The exhibit will be available for viewing until June 29.
The Pentel exhibit has been a staple of the WCC since its early days before the renovation. WCC is one of a handful of exhibition sites in the U.S. each year.
The Lobby Gallery display will include works by students ages three to 15 from around the world.
Founded in 1970 in Osaka, Japan, the contest was created as a way to explore the vivid imagination of children. Paintings, drawings and collages are judged by a panel of expert international judges on the basis of originality, clearly expressed content and cultural expression in a four-month review process. Local schools have had several Pentel winners over the past few decades.
The WCC Lobby Gallery is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and during WCC events. Admission is free. WCC is located on the Greenfield Square.
