Steven Baird

Steven Baird of Creston died Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Greater Regional Hospice Home in Creston.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 2, at Pearson Family Funeral Service and Cremation Center, 809 W. Montgomery St., in Creston with the Rev. Kenneth Halbur Jr. officiating. Steven Joseph Baird, son of Charles Frederick and Mary Kathryn (Hannan) Baird, was born Jan. 11, 1959, in Creston. He went to school in Creston. Steve graduated with the CHS class of 1977.

Steve worked in the construction business most of his working years. He put up steel buildings while residing in Escondido, California, and remodeled homes when he moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, where he lived for nearly 20 years. Steve returned to Creston six years ago, recently working as a driver for Rail Crew Express, taking railroad employees to various job sites.

Steven is survived by sister Kathleen (Baird) Jones of Canton, Michigan; brothers, Fred Baird of Newton, Bill Baird of Angier, North Carolina, and Tom (Brenda) Baird of Creston; nephews, Chuck, Aaron, Dustin and Garrett; nieces, Cara, Kim, Kacey and Tara; and several great-nieces and -nephews.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
