CORNING — Mount Ayr’s girls golf golf team kept all of its athletes under a 60 in a strong day at Southwest Valley Monday asAbbey Schafer won a tie over Southwest Valley’s Abbie Wetzel in a card off for medalist honors as both shot a 48 at Happy Hollow Golf Course.
The Raider boys fell to 4-4 with a loss to SWV 183 to 194 as Cole Swenson took medalist honors for the Timberwolves.

Eagle boys second between Bedford and Central Decatur
AFTON — East Union played host to Bedford and Central Decatur Monday, as the Bulldog boys’ Eli Weed (42) and CD girls’ Kristin Schaff (48) pulled out medalist honors.
The Eagles’ Quinn Eslinger took runner-up honors with a 51.
“Scoring was okay for our teams, but we really need to work on getting up and down around the greens,” East Union coach Dave Campbell. “We are losing to many strokes with bad chipping and putting. Both teams have a big week of golf ahead so we will be getting plenty of time to work on it.”
EU’s Quinn Eslinger took runner-up honors with her 51 on the girls side.
