Kathryn Grimm

Kathryn Lorinda Grimm, daughter of James Keith McBroom and Vera Neal (Hockensmith) McBroom, was born Nov. 22, 1935, in Leroy, and passed from this life Friday, March 2, 2018, at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola at 82 years of age.

Kathryn graduated from Leroy High School. She was united in marriage to Roger Boyd Grimm on Nov. 12, 1954, in Indianola, and four children blessed this union. Kathryn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Roger and Kathryn lived and farmed in the rural Woodburn area, until they retired and moved to Osceola in 1992. Kathryn loved her family and having many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, quilting, cross stitching, scrap booking, playing cards and listening to music.

Those relatives who preceded Kathryn in death were her parents, James and Vera McBroom; brothers, Clovis “Toby” McBroom and Richard “Buck” McBroom; sister-in-law Patricia McBroom; brother-in-law J.C. Niday; father-in-law Charles Grimm and mother-in-law Bernice Grimm.

Kathryn leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 63 years, Roger Grimm of Osceola; son Brad (Utahna) Grimm of Des Moines; daughters, Cindy (Rick) Wright of Woodburn, Cris (Clay) Paulsen of Osceola and Cathie Grimm of Osceola; grandchildren, Kyle Kristopher Grimm, Stephanie Suzanne (Dan) Olvera, Joseph Alan (Rachel) Wright, Drew Derek Johnson, Jacob Ryan (Terry) Wright, Cole Clayton Paulsen, Kassandra Kathryn (Scott) Simpson, Meghan Monique Gwinn, Baxter Sarkisian Grimm and Jordan Wade (Chelsey) Wright; great-grandchildren, Peyton Norma Jean Wright, Wylee Ryan Wright, Lilly May Wright, Layla Lynn Wright, Wheatley Kay Wright, Braden Andrew Olvera, Isabella Kathryn Olvera, Brecken Alexander Olvera, Bay Olivia Olvera, Brennen Aria Olvera, Scarlett Kay Paulsen, Channing Elizabeth Simpson, Carter Olivia Simpson, Tate Owen Luce, Blake Kennedy Gwinn and Jayde Isabel Cline; as well as other relatives and many friends.

Celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday March 6, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., in Osceola with Pastor Chuck DeVos officiating. Interment of her cremains will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Online condolences may be directed to the family at www.kalefuneralhome.com.
