Green Hills AEA designates chief administrator

Dr. Lolli Haws has been nominated to serve as chief administrator for Green Hills Area Education Agency. Haws’ appointment was acted on by the board of directors Tuesday, Jan. 23. Her three-year contract will begin July 1, with a salary of $235,000.

Haws is currently the superintendent of Racine Unified School District in Racine, Wisconsin. She has served the district for the last four years with a constant drive to improve education quality. Notably, she established “Academies of Racine,” a Ford Next Generation Learning community committed to preparing students for success in college, careers and life. Prior to her work in Racine, Haws served three years as an instructional superintendent for the District of Columbia Public Schools. She was also an elementary principal at both Webster Groves School District in St. Louis, Missouri, as well as Francis Howell School District in St. Peters, Missouri, over the course of 13 years. Haws’ educational career began as a teacher for the deaf at South Dakota School for the Deaf, District No. 287 and St. Louis County Special School District.

In 2016, Haws received her national superintendent certification from the American Association of School Administrators. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Augustana University and her Master of Education degree from Southern Illinois University. Her Doctor of Philosophy degree was earned at Saint Louis University.
