Robert William Fuller, 91, of Osceola died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at Afton Care Center.
Services were 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, at Murray Church of Christ with the Rev. Marty Burgus and the Rev. Brian McCracken officiating. Visitation with family present was from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., in Osceola. Interment followed in Murray Cemetery. Robert William Fuller, son of William Vernon Fuller and Margaret Elizabeth Siefkas Fuller, was born Dec. 7, 1926, in Clarke County. Robert received his education from his mother, a teacher in Doyle Township No. 1 country school, which was on the family farm. Robert worked on the farm until he enlisted and served his country in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Second Lieutenant.
On March 16, 1957, he married Lucile Marie Klein Fuller at Murray. Robert spent his life working on the farm.
Robert was a member of Murray Church of Christ, where he served as an elder and deacon, and William-Lochrie Post No. 405 American Legion Murray. He also served as a board member of Central Iowa Bible Camp and was involved in the rural watershed project.
Robert is survived by his children, Linda (Joe) Hewitt of Afton, Janet (Jim) Mullins of Odessa, Texas, Carol (Greg) Smith of Pleasant Hill and Mark Fuller of Osceola; sisters, Margaret Irene Miller of Yucaipa, California, Frances June Lohr of Osceola and Patricia (Dean) Rinner of Medina, Ohio; brother Gerald Eugene (Beverly) Fuller of Raleigh, North Carolina; sister-in-law Mary Klein of Osceola; grandchildren, Jim (Bettina) Hewitt of Ankeny, Sarah (Trevor) Simon of Winterset, Marie Mullins of Odessa, Texas, Ron Mullins of Odessa, Texas, Allison (Evan) VerSteegt of Newton, Katelynn (Josh Whitten) Smith of Des Moines and Shenae Fuller of Indianola; great-grandchildren, Kinslee Simon, Weston Simon, Kolton Hewitt, Avalynn Hewitt, Amara Mullins and McKenna Whitten; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; wife Lucile Marie Fuller; brother-in-infancy William Vernon Fuller Jr; sister Mildred Maxine Iserman and brothers-in-law, Merle Klein, John Iserman, Walter Miller and Neal Lohr.
