CORNING – Kick up your heels and clean the dust off your dancing boots. Brooke Turner is performing from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, at the Opry Show at the Corning Opera House Cultural Center. Turner is a real life working cowboy who spends every opportunity performing cowboy poetry and singing country music.
Turner owns and operates a cow calf outfit with the help of his family. He was raised in the Heartland of America, where values and work ethic of the old west were instilled into him. His poetry is guaranteed to make some people laugh, some cry and others think, because he draws his inspiration from every area of his life. He will tell about bull riding, fishing with kids, calving in a blizzard or watching the sunrise. Turner’s inspiration comes from his sister who was paralyzed in a ranching accident, as he continues to support spinal cord research. Turner has performed from large national conventions to small county fairs. He likes to interact with his audience. The cowboy poet’s following has grown, as he has been featured in numerous magazines and television shows in the Midwest and across the nation.
The house band from Corning Opera House will be the backup band, featuring the talents of Paul Fay, BJ Hart, Gary Walker, Fran Wells, Sadie Pierson, Mark Howard and Steve Carter. Purchase your tickets at the door for $8 per person or $15 per couple. The opera house is handicapped accessible.
