Robert Joe Bailey, 61, of Osceola died Monday, Nov. 6, 2017, at Osceola.
Services were 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., in Osceola with the Rev. Marty Burgus officiating. Interment followed in Murray Cemetery in Murray. Visitation with family present was from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to his family for a fitting tribute to be decided later. Robert “Bob” Joe Bailey, son of Joseph Junior Bailey and Constance “Connie” Erdeen (Cole) Bailey, was born May 1, 1956, in Clarke County. Bob received his education in Murray and attended Murray High School, graduating in 1974. Soon after graduation, Bob entered the United States Air Force and served his country from 1974-78, attaining the rank of sergeant.
Following his time in the military, Bob began working construction, traveling all over the country until he returned to Clarke County in 1979 to farm with his dad. Most recently, he had been helping to mow and manicure many properties and several of Clarke County’s rural cemeteries.
Bob is survived by his sister Cheryl German of Grand River; brother Bill Bailey of Dexter; sister Chris Bailey of Chino Hills, California; nieces, Jesse (Dalton) Irving of Osceola and Brittany Bailey of Osceola; nephews, Jonathon Bailey of Humeston, Bradley Bailey of Humeston, Joseph German of Grand River and Nicholas German of Grand River; great-nephews, Christopher Crisman, Elija Seymour and Kester Irving; great-niece Joslynn Irving; as well as other relatives and many friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brother Kenneth Ray Bailey and nephew James Wyatt German.
