Craig Ford, 62, of Las Vegas, Nevada, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mount Ayr with the Rev. David Polich officiating. Burial is in St. Edward Catholic Cemetery in Afton. Open visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., in Mount Ayr. Memorials are to National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum in Knoxville. Craig, son of Edward E. and Margaret E. (Sullivan) Ford, was born July 29, 1955, at Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr. Craig graduated from Mount Ayr High School with the class of 1973. He went on and attended Iowa State University in Ames.
Craig moved from Mount Ayr to Phoenix, Arizona, in 1983. In the late 1980s, Craig moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, and he lived there the remainder of his life. Craig was a tax preparer for Jackson Hewlett.
Craig is survived by his mother Margaret Ford of Mount Ayr; brothers, Charles Ford of Mount Ayr and Michael (Nancy) Ford of Tingley; sister Marcia (Delwyn) Showalter of Mount Ayr; nephews and niece, Kyle Ford of Norwalk, Kirk Ford of Indianola, Kristyn Ford of Tingley, Daniel (Jessica) Showalter of Mount Ayr and David (Taryn Fisher) Showalter of Ackley; cousins, other relatives and many good friends.
Craig was preceded in death by his father and grandparents, Charles and Sarah Sullivan and Thomas and Mary Ford.
