HCI Care Services and Visiting Nurse Services of Iowa named one of Iowa’s Top Workplaces

HCI Care Services and Visiting Nurse Services of Iowa has been awarded a 2017 Top Workplaces honor by The Des Moines Register and was named “Runner-Up: Best Nonprofit” by the Des Moines Business Record.

The Top Workplaces lists are based solely on the results of an employee feedback survey administered by WorkplaceDynamics LLC, a research firm that specializes in organizational health and workplace improvement. Several aspects of workplace culture were measured, including alignment, execution and connection.

The “Best of Des Moines” annual survey is conducted by the Des Moines Business Record via an online open-ended poll, where participants vote for the businesses, people and events they think are the “Best of Des Moines” in dozens of categories – including best nonprofit.

“Receiving these accolades is really a reflection of how much our employees and supporters believe in our nonprofit mission and the outcomes we achieve for our patients and clients,” said Tray Wade, president and CEO of HCI Care Services and VNS of Iowa. “Our goal is to help the vulnerable people we serve live their best lives.”

Last year, the organization’s nearly 400 employees provided critical healthcare and social services to 60,000 Iowans across the state’s southern tier. The nonprofit has 14 locations, including multiple, locally staffed teams for its HCI Hospice Care Services, Hospice With Heart and VNS Home Care programs.
