Bruce Bangert

Bruce G. Bangert, 63, of Creston, formerly of Pomeroy, passed away Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, in Quincy, Illinois.

Bruce Bangert was born March 23, 1954, in Fort Dodge. He was the son of Philip and Patricia (North) Bangert. Bruce grew up on the family farm north of Pomeroy. He attended Pomeroy Community School, graduating in 1972.

Bruce served in the United States Army and was a proud veteran.

On Dec. 20, 1986, Bruce was married to Mona Watkins. Both Bruce and Mona worked for Younglove Construction LLC, a job that led them to many new friends and locations throughout the United States.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Mona; sons, Justin (Joni), Phillip (Katie), Shawn (Maria) and Shane (Victoria); mother Patricia Bangert; brother Michael (Julie); sister Phyllis (John); aunts, uncles, many beloved grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Philip Bangert and brother Brian Bangert.

Bruce donated his body to Life Legacy to aid in medical research and help future generations in cancer survivorship.

Bruce enjoyed fast cars, especially NASCAR, grilling out and spending time with his beloved grandchildren.
