Rodney (Rod) Dean DeVore, son of the late Gerald Dean and Joyce Marie (Anderson) DeVore was born May 19, 1955, in Leon and passed from this life Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Clarke County Hospital at 62 years of age.
Rod lived in Van Wert before he moved to Osceola in 1962 as a young boy and attended Clarke Community Schools. He had a lifelong career working for his cousin Steven (Steve) DeVore with DeVore’s Construction.
Rod was united in marriage to Karen Jessip-DeVore on Sept. 24, 2005, after many years together.
Rod enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, visiting with friends, riding his motorcycle and being with his children and grandchildren. Genealogy was one of his beloved hobbies which led him to find many relatives.
Rod was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald Dean and Joyce Marie (Anderson) DeVore; maternal grandparents, Earl Orville Anderson and Anna Armilda (Fesler) Anderson Martin; paternal grandparents, Spencer Dean and Helen Blanche (Pierce) DeVore; father-in-law Bob Jessip and nephew Justin DeVore.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Karen Jessip-DeVore of Osceola; daughters, Brandi (Bryan) Gripka of St. Charles, Missouri, and Randi (Austin Irving) DeVore of Woodburn; son Tristen DeVore of Osceola; grandchildren, Austin Gripka, Tori Gripka, Kendal Irving and baby Irving due August 2017; sister Renee (Vance) Vestweber of Garden Grove; brother Lynn DeVore of Osceola; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The family is honoring Rod’s wishes of no services.
