Iowa State University

AMES – At Iowa State University’s fall commencement ceremonies held Dec. 17, 2,148 students received degrees. Iowa State awarded 1,769 undergraduate degrees, 258 master’s degrees, one veterinary medicine degree and 120 doctor of philosophy degrees.

Of the students receiving bachelor’s degrees, 455 graduated with “With Distinction” (cum laude, magna cum laude or summa cum laude). Twenty students graduated both with distinction and as members of the Honors Program.

Grand View University

DES MOINES – Recognition for outstanding academic achievement has been given to the following Grand View University students for the 2016 fall semester.

Alli Thomsen of Creston was named to the president’s list for earning a GPA of 4.0 while carrying at least 12 hours of classes.

Grand View University, with an enrollment of approximately 2,000 students, is an independent, liberal arts university affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

Grinnell College

GRINNELL – Rebecca Siglin, daughter of Richard J. Siglin of Creston, has been named to the Grinnell College dean’s list for the fall semester 2016. Siglin is one of 261 students honored for outstanding academic achievement by Grinnell College. To make the dean’s list, students must have a GPA of 3.75 or above.

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Jessica Perry of Creston earned a place on the fall 2016 semester dean’s list at University of Central Missouri. Perry’s academic work earned her a place on the 4.0 list.

Founded in 1871, University of Central Missouri is a comprehensive regional university which offers more than 150 undergraduate and graduate programs for more than 12,000 students.

Buena Vista University

STORM LAKE – The following students have been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2016 semester at Buena Vista University (BVU). Students named to the dean’s list must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 for the semester, based on a 4.0 grade point system, and must have taken at least 12 hours of coursework.

Luther College

DECORAH – Hannah Maxa, Luther College senior of Lenox, has been named to the 2016 fall semester dean’s list.

Luther College’s fall 2016 dean’s list includes 717 students; 114 first-years, 182 sophomores, 181 juniors and 240 seniors. To be named to the dean’s list, a student must earn a semester GPA of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale and must complete at least 12 credit hours with 10 hours of conventional grades (A, B, C, D).

Upper Iowa University

FAYETTE – Upper Iowa University (UIU) announces the dean’s list for the 2016 fall semester. To be honored, the undergraduate must have earned a minimum 3.5 GPA for the semester and be enrolled as a full-time student.

Silvester Rutto, an accounting major from Creston, was among the honorees.

Mercy College of Health Sciences

DES MOINES – Stephanie Smith of Greenfield and Joseph Jenkins of Orient have been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2016 semester at Mercy College of Health Sciences in Des Moines. To qualify for this academic recognition, students must attain a GPA between 3.5 and 3.749, in their most recent semester, for a minimum of six credit hours.

Northwest Technical College

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Chance Sheffield of Bedford earned dean’s list honors from Northwest Technical College in Bemidji, Minnesota, at the conclusion of the fall 2016 semester. To be eligible for the dean’s list, NTC students must be enrolled for at least 12 credits and earn a 3.5 GPA during the semester. A total of 114 students earned fall 2016 dean’s list honors from the college.

Northwest Technical College, located in northern Minnesota’s lake district, is an open, inviting technological learning organization.
