WASHINGTON, D.C. — Alexandra Moe and Derek Flowers were married just before sunset Dec. 10 on the beach on Marco Island, Florida.
The bride is the daughter of Brian and Joann Moe of Naples, Florida. The groom is the son of Jim and Tami Flowers of Creston.
The Rev. Dr. Kyle Bennett officiated the ceremony.
Matron of honor was Kersten Moe Doherty, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Lauren Faust and Kathryn Burke, friends of the bride, and Morgan Gaffney, friend and colleague of the bride.
Best man was Matt Nielsen, friend of the groom. Junior best man was Scottie Moe, brother of the bride. Groomsmen were Dan Weinhold and Ben Stander, friends and fraternity brothers of the groom, and Tim Moran, friend and colleague of the groom.
The bride is a 2010 graduate of University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland, with degrees in broadcast journalism and government and politics. She is currently employed as Capitol Hill producer for NBC news, and also covered the 2016 presidential election.
The groom is a 2005 graduate of Iowa State University in Ames with a degree in political science. He is currently employed as political and public affairs consultant for Woodberry Associates in Des Moines and Washington, D.C.
After a two-week honeymoon in Hawaii, the couple, who met on the campaign trail in 2011 in Iowa, currently reside in Washington, D.C.
