Lowell Ronald Fox, 96, of Waterloo, formerly of Indianola and Osceola, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016, at Allen Memorial Hospital.
Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street in Waterloo. A visitation was also from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, and one hour prior to services on Saturday at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., in Osceola. Services were 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at the funeral home with burial in Murray Cemetery in Murray. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family. Lowell, son of David and Ella (Woods) Fox, was born Nov. 1, 1919, in Hopeville. Lowell graduated from Murray High School in 1939 and served in the United States Army during World War II.
On Sept. 26, 1951, he married Carol Esther Peterson in Atlantic. Lowell was a longtime farmer in the Murray area and was employed by the railroad until retiring in 1981.
Lowell is survived by his wife Carol of Waterloo; sons, David (Janie) of Waterloo and John (Jeanie) of Humeston; grandchildren, Michael Fox of Grimes and Nicole Masters of Missouri; great-grandsons, Lane and Levi Masters; sister-in-law Betty Crawford of Osceola and many nieces and nephews.
Lowell was preceded in death by his parents; son Donald Fay Fox and sister Flora Marie Winchester.
