Creston’s Crazy Summer Sales Days and the Iowa Sales Tax Holiday are back together again. Both events will take place this Friday and Saturday, Aug. 5 and 6 citywide. Crazy bargains can be found throughout Creston on both days.
The annual State of Iowa Sales Tax Holiday on Aug. 5 and 6 is when no tax is collected on certain clothing or footwear during this time. The exemption applies to each article priced under $100.

39th-Annual Creston/Southwest Iowa Hot Air Balloon Days
Planning for the 39th-Annual Creston/Southwest Iowa Hot Air Balloon Days is well underway. There will once again be the Friday Night Fun Flight on Sept. 16 weather permitting. In addition to the almost 45 balloons that will be participating in the event, there will be the annual parade of bands, as well as the Craft Show and Flea Market, 5K Run and the Show and Shine Car Show, plus new this year, Art in the Park on Saturday, Sept. 17, and Sunday, Sept. 18, in McKinley Park. Information on these and other activities are currently available at the Chamber or at the Chamber website at www.crestoniowachamber.com.
The 2016 Hot Air Balloon T-shirts, sweatshirts and pins are available at the Creston Chamber of Commerce Office, 208 W. Taylor Street/Hwy 34 West. Stop by early for the best selection.
