To meet the urgent care needs of residents in Creston, Union County and the surrounding communities, Greater Regional announces the grand opening of a new urgent care and walk-in clinic Monday, July 18, at the south entrance of the Medical Arts Plaza in Creston. The new clinic will add convenience and improve access to local health care services in the region.
The clinic welcomes the public to an open house from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, July 18, to visit the clinic, meet the providers and learn more about the services available. The clinic will officially be open for business at noon later that day.
“Someone with an injury or illness that needs urgent attention, but doesn’t require emergency treatment will be able to walk in at the Urgent Care Clinic,” said Dr. Matthew Epp, MD, medical director of the Urgent Care Clinic. “The clinic is intended for patients who need urgent care before or after their regular provider’s office hours, or for someone who doesn’t have a regular provider.”
“For patients without a regular provider, our urgent care team will assist the individual in arranging a primary care provider and any needed follow-up services,” said Gwen Buck, chief clinical officer.
“The Urgent Care Clinic will allow patients with minor injuries or illness to receive care for much less expense than the traditional emergency room visit,” said Mary Groves, RN, Emergency Department Director.
The Greater Regional Urgent Care Clinic hours will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.
Greater Regional has recently added several new providers highly trained to treat non-life threatening injuries, such as lacerations, abrasions and mild fractures and illnesses such as sore throats, colds, earaches and coughs in the clinic. The new urgent care and walk-in clinic providers include Elizabeth Hensley, ARNP, FNP; Abigail Clarkson, ARNP,FNP-BC; and Tessa M. Sandel, ARNP,FNP-BC.
