SW Iowa Junior Golf Tour under way

The Southwest Iowa Junior Golf tour is underway for the summer.

The tour had its fourth stop of the season on Tuesday at Red Oak Country Club/

In the girls nine and under, which played five holes, Hollynn Rieck of Creston won with a 47. Kennedy Strider of Creston was second with a 48 and Taylor Rasmussen of Clarinda was third with a 49.

The 12-13 girls played nine holes. Rylie Driskell of Creston was the winner with a 45. Maria Groumoutis of Creston was second with a 63. Brooke Bauer of Shenandoah was third with a 65 followed by  Ali Christensen with a 77.

In the girls 14-16, which played nine holes, Ashton Carter of Creston won with a 43. Sophia Gromoutis of Creston was second with a 51. Katie Carlson of Red Oak was third with a 52. Caitlin Clark shot a 58.

On the boys 9 and under, which played five holes, Cade Smith of Atlantic won with a 35. Rhett Driskell of Creston was second with a 40, tied with Zayne Eslinger, also of Creston.

In the boys 10-11, which played nine holes, Cruz Weaver of Atlantic won with a 65. Sterling Sharp of Creston was second with a 70. Roth Den Beste of Atlantic was third with a 71.

In the boys 12-13, which played nine holes, Colby Berg of Creston won with a 43, edging Drey Newell of Atlantic with a 43. Owen Lucas of Clarinda was third with a 49. Other players included Evan Bruce with a 64 and Kyle Strider with a 67.

In the boys 14-16, Colton Book of Glenwood won with a 40. Nick Stavas of Glenwood was second with a 43 and Cooper Talich of Glenwood was third with a 54.

Team standings after four events have Creston leading with 86 points. Atlantic is second iwth 60 points. Shenandoah is third wtih 15 points. Glenwood is fourth with six points, followed by Red Oak with five points and Clarinda with four points.

The next tournament is Friday in Clarinda.

June 17 stop

The third stop was held on Friday, June 17, at Crestmoor Country Club in Creston.

Winning the girls nine and under was Kennedy Strider of Creston with a 39. Taylor Rasmussen of Clarinda was second with a 44, followed by Hollynn Rieck of Creston with a 46.

The girls 10-11 played seven holes. Jacy Kralik of Creston was the winner with a 53. Addison Snodgrass of Creston was second with a 69. Caitlin Bruce of Creston was third with a 70.

In the girls 12-13, Rylie Driskell of Creston won with a 48. Brook Bauer of Shenandoah was second with a 63. Maria Groumoutis was third with a 69. Ali Christensen shot a 75 and Macy Wiley an 87.

In the girls 14-16, Ashton Carter of Creston won with a 41, followed by Sophia Groumoutis of Creston with a 48. Katie Carlson of Red Oak was third with a 54. Caitlin Clark shot a 61.

In the boys nine and under, Sam Brosam of Atlantic won with a 24 over five holes. Zayne Eslinger of Creston was second with a 30. Brady Wood of Atlantic was third with a 33. Other included a 40 from Aiden Snodgrass, a 41 from Rhett Driskell and a 50 from Caden Wiley.

In the boys 10-11, Cruz Weaver of Atlantic won with a 62. Sterling Sharp of Creston was second with a 70. Dylan Calvin of Creston was third with a 71. Other scores included a 74 from Carson Rieck, an 80 from Conner Wiley and an 82 from Casen Dryden.

In the boys 12-13, Colby Burg of Creston won with 49. Drey Newell of Atlantic was second with a 51. Ethan Horn of Red Oak was third iwth a 56. Other scores included a 57 from Evan Bruce, a 66 from Brandon Berry, a 68 from Kyle Strider and a 72 from Marco Galan.

In the boys 14-16, Tate Den Beste of Atlantic won with a 56.

June 14 stop

On June 14, the Southwest Iowa Junior Golf Tour had its second stop of the season at the American Legion Country Club in Shenandoah.

In the girls 9 and under, Hollynn Rieck of Creston won with a 38. Kennedy Strider of Creston was second with a 38. Ashlee Dinges of Shenandoah was third with a 40.

In the girls 12-13, Rylie Driskell of Creston won with a 47. Maria Groumoutis of Creston was second with a 65. Brooke Bauer of Shenandoah was third with a 65. Ali Christensen shot a 78.

In the girls 14-16, Sophia Groumoutis of Creston won with a 44. Katie Carlson of Red Oak was second with a 51. Olivia Denton of Shenandoah was third with a 51.

In the boys 9 and under, Cole Scamman of Shenandoah won the five-hole event with a 35. Cade Smith of Atlantic was second with a 36. Rhett Driskell of Creston was third with a 39.

In the boys 10-11, Cruz Weaver of Atlantic won with a 57. Roth Den Beste of Atlantic was second iwth a 66. Carson Rieck of Creston was third with a 69.

In the boys 12-13, Braden Smith of Atlantic won with a 46. Colby Burg of Creston was second with a 49. Drey Newell of Atlantic was third with a 50.

In the boys 14-16, Tate Den Beste of Atlantic won with a 54. Anthony Dinges of Shenandoah was second with a 62. Beau Thompson of Creston was third with a 64.

June 10 stop

The tour started its season on Friday, June 10, at the Atlantic Golf and Country Club.

Winning the girls 9 and under evnet was Lola Comes of Atlantic with a 42. Hollynn Rieck of Creston was second with a 43. Josie Handlos of Atlantic was third with a 43. Kennedy Strider shot a 48.

In the girls 10-11, Jacy Kralik of Creston won with a 56 over the seven-hole event. Graycen Partlow of Atlantic was second with a 62, followed by Abby Muller of Atlantic with a 66.

In the girls 12-13, Rylie Driskell of Creston won with a 48. Brook Bauer of Shenandoah was second with a 65. Maria Groumoutis of Creston was third with a 69. Ali Christensen had a 75.

In the girls 14-16, Ashton Carter of Creston won with a 45. Sophia Groumoutis of Creston was second with a 47. Alyssa Ginther of Atlantic was third with a 48.

In the boys nine and under, Hudson McLaren of Atlantic won with a 28. Cade Smith of Atlantic was second with a 34. Sam Brosom of Atlantic was third with a 37. Other scores included a 42 from Zayne Eslinger and a 43 from Rhett Driskell.
