DES MOINES – “The Untouchable Tour” singer Meghan Trainor is the final act announced for the Iowa State Fair Grandstand concert series presented by U.S. Cellular and will perform 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12. Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, April 29, and cost $45, $50 and $60.
Trainor continues to break records, make history, inspire countless fans and change the landscape of pop music and culture. She began 2016 by winning “Best New Artist” at the Grammy Awards and “Favorite Album” for her chart-dominating RIAA platinum full-length debut, “Title,” at the 2016 People’s Choice Awards. “Title” also yielded four multiplatinum Top 10 Billboard Hot 100 smashes – “All About That Bass,” “Lips Are Movin,” “Dear Future Husband” and “Like I’m Gonna Lose You.”
For Trainor, it started with “All About That Bass.” It spent eight weeks at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100, making it the longest-running Hot 100 No. 1 by an Epic Records artist and longest-running Hot 100 No. 1 by a female artist in 2014. The breakout hit was nominated for “Song of the Year” and “Record of the Year” at the 2015 Grammy Awards. She received American Music Awards nominations and Teen Choice Awards nominations.
