DES MOINES — KISS is the latest act announced for the 2016 Iowa State Fair Grandstand Concert Series presented by U.S. Cellular. They will perform 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19. Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. Saturday, May 7, and cost $50, $60 and $85.
KISS, one of the most influential rock and roll bands of all time is well known for its face paint and stage outfits. Rising to fame in the 70s, their concerts focused on elaborate live performances with fire-breathing, smoking guitars, shooting rockets, pyrotechnics and more.
KISS holds honors as one of America’s top gold-record champions, selling more than 100 million albums worldwide in their 40-year career. KISS’ career milestones are staggering, boasting decades of record-breaking tours around the globe. Notable moments include appearances at Super Bowl XXXIII, 2002 Winter Olympics, 2005 Rockin’ the Corps concert for U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan and performing on the 2009 American Idol finale to 30 million viewers.
