Nancy Hogue, 83, of Creston died Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Rolling Green Village in Nevada.

Nancy Florence Hogue, daughter of Robert and Maude McNay, was born Aug. 9, 1932, in Tampico, Indiana. Nancy graduated from Henryville High School in Henryville, Indiana, in 1950. She later studied one year at Indiana University.

On June 24, 1950, she married Thomas Hogue in Charleston, Indiana. The couple first settled in Henryville, Indiana, on Thomas’ farm, and Nancy worked at Jeffersonville Hospital. In 1963, they moved to Audubon for two years, then moved to Coon Rapids for seven years, working for Kiddy Corner daycare. Then in 1972, they moved to Bayard where they operated and managed a hog confinement. Soon after, they moved back to Coon Rapids where Nancy began working at Ohde’s Funeral Home. Later, Nancy went back to school for nursing home administration and she started her administration career in Carroll. She also was a nursing home administrator in Correctionville, Marshalltown, Pleasant Hill and finally Creston where she ended her career in 1988, due to health concerns.

Nancy was a member of St. John’s Church of Christ. She was formally an active member of Eastern Star and did volunteer activities at various schools. In 2013, she moved to the Rose catered living in Ames, and in 2015, moved to Rolling Green Village in Nevada.

Nancy is survived by her children, Amy (Steven) Becker of Scranton, Carol (Jack) Vincent of Nevada, Lisa Hogue of Perry, Carl Joe (Lori) Hogue of Monroe and Jane Trenkle of Creston; grandchildren, Jon (Emily) Marshall, Tim (Kate) Marshall, Bree (Scott) Schwaller, Annalissa (Chris) Brodersen, Drake Hogue and Jaelyn Hogue and great-grandchildren, Dylan and Emery.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Maude McNay; husband Tom Hogue; son Michael Hogue; adopted son Clyde McNay; granddaughter Autumn Vincent; brothers, Edward, Bob, Jim, Tom and Bill McNay and sisters, Emily, Margaret and Mary McNay.
