Adams County Sheriff Garrett Bazzell, 21, of La Vista, Nebraska, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia Wednesday on Highway 34 in Adams County. According to an Adams County Sheriff report, the sheriff’s office was called for a car being driven all over the road. The driver, Bazzell, was stopped on Highway 34, and marijuana and drug paraphernalia were located in the car. Bazzell was being held on $1,000 cash bond. Adair County Sheriff

Scott James Noell, 57, of Omaha, Nebraska, was charged with reckless driving 12:31 a.m. March 6 in Adair County.

Noell was sentenced to time served and released.

Laura Kay Welsch, 36, of Fontanelle was charged with driving under suspension 7:31 p.m. March 7 in Adair County.

Welsch was cited and released.

Michaelle Lyn Johnston, 40, of Atlantic was charged with trespassing 6:34 p.m. March 8 in Adair County.

According to an Adair County Sheriff report, Johnston knowingly and admittedly committed trespass by entering upon a property after being told by officers she could not enter until a specific date and time.

Johnston was released on $300 bond.

Barrett Martin Driskill, 31, of Afton was charged with serious assault and on a Madison County warrant 1 p.m. Friday in Adair County.

According to an Adair County Sheriff report, a female victim alleged in a written statement that Driskill shoved her during an argument after he arrived to the victim’s parents’ house. Driskill has a prior conviction of domestic abuse assault in 2011.

Driskill was cited and released to the custody of Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

Christopher John Showalter, 24, of Ottumwa was charged with second-degree theft, a class D felony, and on a Wapello County warrant 6:21 p.m. Friday in Adair County.

According to an Adair County Sheriff report, Showalter did unlawfully possess a stolen vehicle without the owner’s consent.

Showalter was being held on $5,000 bond.

Felicia Marie Thomas, 20, of Ottumwa was charged on an Appanoose County warrant 7:31 p.m. Friday in Adair County.

Thomas was held and released to the custody of Appanoose County Sheriff’s Office.

Mark Stephen Miller, 63, of Orient was charged with possession of weapons by a felon, second-offense possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, second-offense possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia 9:02 p.m. Friday in Adair County.

According to an Adair County Sheriff report, a search warrant was conducted at 2702 300th St., in Orient. Miller, by his own admission, has lived at the residence for three years. There was within the house, unsecured and easily accessible, a .22-caliber rifle and .38-caliber revolver. Miller is a convicted felon. Also during the search, marijuana, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia belonging to Miller were located.

Miller was released on $5,000 bond.

Judy Ann Sammons, 63, of Orient was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana 12:45 p.m. Saturday in Adair County.

According to an Adair County Sheriff report, a search warrant was conducted at 2702 300th St. in Orient, and a marijuana pipe, marijuana weigh scale and weigh scale belonging to Sammons were located, and marijuana was located within a dresser drawer belonging to Sammons.

Sammons was cited and released.
