Noreen Hoffman, 85, of Creston died Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, at Creston Specialty Care in Creston.
Celebration of life services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, at Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25, in Creston. Mary O'Riley will officiate the service. Burial will be held privately at Graceland Cemetery. Open visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Monday with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Frances Noreen Hoffman, daughter of Edith Laverne (Feeback) and Edward D. Spurr, was born March 13, 1930, in Creston. Noreen graduated from Creston High School in 1948.
On Aug. 26, 1956, Noreen married Robert Burton Hoffman in Creston. They settled in the Creston area where she worked as a clerk for Seckington’s True Value for 35 years, retiring in 2001. Noreen was a member of Creston First United Methodist Church.
Noreen is survived by her daughters, Tracy (Tom) Marquart of Creston and Deborah (Tom) Benders of Lenox; son Mark (Lori) Hoffman of Lenox; sisters, Joyce (Parnell) Proctor of Cedar Rapids and Mary Jo Hardman of Silver Lake, Kansas; brothers, Don Spurr of Sacramento, California, and Ron (Jan) Spurr of Creston; sister-in-law Sue Spurr of Longmont, Colorado; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Noreen was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bob in 2008; sisters, Ruby (Ken) Welcher and Doris Johnson; brothers, Charles, Ken (Phyllis) and Floyd and sister-in-law Carole Spurr.
