Coenen, Fryefield plan September wedding

PORTLAND, Ore. — Gary and Barb Coenen of Creston announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter Kate Coenen to Chris Fryefield, both of Portland, Ore., daughter of Dr. David Fryefield and Dr. Catherine Kordesch, both of Eugene, Ore.

Coenen graduated from Creston High School in 2005. She earned a master’s degree in urban planning from University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich. She is currently employed at Parkrose Neighborhood Prosperity Initiative doing community and economic development.

Fryefield graduated from University of Michigan with a degree in law, specializing in environmental law. She is currently employed as project coordinator with North Clackamas Urban Watershed Council.

The couple plan an evening ceremony Sept. 6 at Henry A. Wallace Country Life Center in Orient.
