Murray

Marvin Lee Keller, son of Glen Keller and Opal Faye Waddell was born on Dec. 25, 1933 in Tingley, Iowa and passed from this life July 8, 2015 at Methodist hospital at the age of 81 (pushing 82 according to him).

Marvin graduated from Shannon City High School in 1952. He was a farmer most of his life after short bouts as a building construction worker, and a machinist as a young man.

Marvin loved people and never met a stranger. He met the love of his life wife Leora llene Blaser at a country dance. It was love at first sight that has lasted 59 years. Their union was blessed with three children: Terry Lynn, Edward Eugene and Cindy Marie. The extended family included William Ries (Uncle Bill) and Idema White (Granny). Marvin was always a jokester and told everyone, “I have been married 80 years; forty to Leora and forty to Granny.” Marvin and Leora have a love of people so much that they opened their house to many. Early on in their marriage; Leora’s brothers Paul and Bernard Blaser lived with them but that was just the beginning. Many nieces, nephews, cousins or just a child needing a loving home for the summer or a few years enjoyed calling their house “home.”

Marvin was known for lighting up any room with fun. Almost everyone who knew Marvin had a “Marvin Tale.” He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
