Dick Winkler, 62, of Lorimor, died July 10, 2015, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center West in Des Moines.
Memorial services will be at 5 p.m. Thursday, July 16, at Oak Grove Community Church, 2471 Elder Berry Ave., Winterset. The Rev. Terry Kerr and brothers Gary Majavec and Barton Shields will officiate. No visitation is planned. A luncheon will follow the service at the church. The family is in charge of the service arrangements for Dick Winkler. Pearson Family Funeral Service, 809 W. Montgomery St., Creston, is in charge of the professional arrangements. Dick Winkler, son of LeRoy Richard Winkler Sr. and Marie (Ehms) Winkler, was born April 15, 1953, in Creston.
Dick attended and graduated from Creston High School.
On April 17, 1987, he married Diana Fay Webb. They lived a short time in Osceola, but have spent most of the past 27 years in the Lorimor and Macksburg area.
Dick was a farmer. He grew soybeans and corn for his livestock, and he harvested and sold hay. Dick also drove a semi-truck over the road, primarily for Hy-Vee.
Dick also did welding, making his own repairs on his equipment.
Dick is survived by his wife Diana Winkler of Lorimor; son Cody Winkler of Lorimor; and other relatives and friends.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents; and aunt Louise Winkler, who raised Dick after the death of his mother.
