National American Miss is dedicated to developing the success of young women across the nation with a program that is designed to be age-appropriate and family-oriented.
Pageants are held in each state for girls ages four to 18 in five different age divisions.
NAM is the largest, most respected for these age divisions, and there is a no make-up rule for preteen and younger groups.
The National American Miss Pageants are for “Today’s Girl” and “Tomorrow’s Leaders.”
The pageant program is based on inner beauty, as well as poise, presentation, and offers an “All American Spirit” of fun for family and friends.
Emphasis is placed on the importance of gaining self-confidence, learning new skills, learning good attitudes about competition, and setting and achieving personal goals.
The pageant seeks to recognize the accomplishments of each girl while encouraging her to set goals for the future.
Busick also competed in last year’s NAM in the princess division and won third runner-up overall, most photogenic and most promising model.
The areas girls compete in are:
• Public speaking – personal introduction
• Interview – one-on-one interviews with six judges
• Formal wear – poise and confidence
• Community service – Busick will be donating school supplies to the United Methodist Church and Blank Children’s Hospital.
Her activities include tumbling and trampoline team, modeling, T-ball in Murray and helping on the farm.
Busick’s sponsors for the pageant were family and friends, and she will be looking for sponsors for the national pageant in November.
