VM Co-ed

VAN METER — Nodaway Valley finished fourth with 77.5 points here Monday at the Van Meter Co-ed.

Junior Destiny Scar picked up a pair of victories for the Wolverines, winning both distance races.

Scar ran 11:42.49 to win the 3,000 meters and later won the 1,500 meters in 5:22.80.

The Wolverines shuttle hurdle relay team of Paige McElfish, Sidney Hohertz, Kenna Lundy and Katy Ehrsam was just edged out at the line by Clarke, running 1:14.63 for second place to Clarke’s 1:14.07.

I-35 Invitational

TRURO — Nodaway Valley finished third and Lenox fourth here Tuesday at the rain-shortened I-35 Invitational.

The meet was called off after the 100 meter hurdles because of rain.

Both Nodaway Valley and East Union won three events for the night.

Destiny Scar won the 3,000 meters for the second night in a row, while the Wolverine 4x800 relay team of Brittany Smith, Rachel Scheel, Keeley Shantz, and Jessica Nelson also picked up a victory. The shuttle hurdle relay team of Sadie Marnin, Kenna Lundy, Paige McElfish and Katy Ehrsam won.

For Lenox, Aurora Arevalo took gold in the shot put with a throw of 32-7, while Mika Weaver won the long jump with a leap of 15-7.

Lenox’s distance medley relay team of Weaver, Jacy Stoaks, Halee Wallace and Katie Dukes also brought home a gold medal.

MD Invite

MELCHER — The Murray girls won the MD Invitational here Tuesday, scoring 116 team points to beat out Lamoni (99) for first place. Diagonal finished fifth with 64 points.

Murray won a total of five events, including going first and second in the 400 meter dash. Brandi Gilbert took first in the event, with Kayla Siefkas running second. Diagonal’s Katie Sobotka and Maddie Lohmann finished third and fourth.

Murray also got wins from Zoie Lecy (long jump), Kylie Shields (3,000 meters), Gilbert (200 meters) and the 4x400 relay team of Becca Decker, Autumn Ashby, Hallee Ashby and Lecy.

Diagonal had a one-two finish of its own in the 800 meters, with Kasydi Klommhaus and Sobotka running first and second.
