Junior Dredge, 86, of Mount Ayr died March 31, 2015, at Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 4, at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. The Rev. Skip Rushing will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Ayr. Open visitation will be noon to 8 p.m. Friday with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Junior Arlen Dredge, son of Arzetta (Colter) and Arlen Hubert Dredge, was born June 23, 1928, in Tingley.

On July 31, 1948, Junior married Roena Faye Reynolds.

Junior was an area farmer. Junior was also a mechanic at several local businesses until 2003, when for health reasons, he moved into Mount Ayr.

Junior is survived by his wife Roena Dredge of Mount Ayr; children, Duane (Meredith) Dredge and Donna (Dick) Elliott, all of Mount Ayr, Dawnette (Danny) VanLaar of Winterset and Dan (Aimee) Dredge of Monroe; grandchildren, Leslie (Jared) Murphy, Clint (Allison) Dredge, Dennis (Sami) Elliott, Adam (Katrina) Dredge and Brad (Abby) Elliott, all of Mount Ayr, Morgan (Erik) Kalweit of Des Moines, Mathew (Alyssa) VanLaar of Ames, Ryan VanLaar, Tyson VanLaar and Drew VanLaar (fiancé Stacey Baudler), all of Winterset, Tyler Dredge and Nick Dredge of Monroe; great-grandchildren, Rhett and Zach Murphy, Adalynn, Colten, Adley and Tarynn Dredge and Maci Jo Elliott, all of Mount Ayr, and Taytum VanLaar of Ames; brother Loyde (Loree) Dredge; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Helen Dredge, John Raines, Edgar (Dee) Robertson, Raymond Gaule, Ron (Shari) Reynolds, Dorthy Campbell and Ramona Brand.

Junior was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, Hubert Dredge, Henry (Elaine) Dredge and Frank (Elizabeth) Dredge; sisters and brothers-in-law, Annabelle (Richard) Knight, Marie Rains, Lorene (Ed) Jones and Eva Lee (Raymond) Haley; parents-in-law, Merle and Gladys Reynolds; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Clyde Brand, Ginger Gaule, Jean Robertson, Frank Reynolds, Burl (Delores) Reynolds and Richard Campbell.
