Donna Pontier, 79, of Indianola died Nov. 21, 2014, at her home in Indianola.
Services were 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, at Osceola United Methodist Church. The Rev. Tom Murr officiatied. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery. Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Donna Lou Pontier, daughter of Joy (Rosenberger) and Floyd Powell, was born April 5, 1935, in Lacelle.
Donna grew up in Woodburn and graduated from Woodburn High School.
On Dec. 5, 1953, Donna married Alexander Pontier in Woodburn.
Donna was a homemaker, while her children were young, and later she worked at the bank.
Donna played the organ in church. She was a member of the Fiddlers Club and Jordan United Methodist Church.
Donna is survived by her husband Alex Pontier of Indianola; sons, Michael (Donna) Pontier of Omaha, Neb., and Jay (Elizabeth) Pontier of Des Moines; daughter Yvette (Tim) Hansen of Huxley; grandchildren, Alexander, Nathan, David, Jeremy, Jozeph and Elyssa; brother Marion (Donna) Powell of Indianola; sister Margaret (Dennis) Murr of Dallas; as well as other relatives and many friends.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents and brother Basil Powell.
