Locally-owned and operated Precision Optical, which is located at the junction of Highway 34 and South Elm Street, recently acquired the Franklin Park, Illinois-based-company Opticote, Inc.
“Opticote is an exceptional brand in our (optical) industry, and one we are proud to add to our family of companies,” said Mike Tamerius, co-owner of Precision Optical.
“We are confident that our merger will provide substantial benefits to both companies,” added Matt Somers, co-owner.
Together with K Optical Laboratory in Michigan and CRX Laboratories in South Carolina and Tennessee, Precision Optical is known as Precision Optical Group (P.O.G.) Labs. The addition of Opticote will not change the name of the business or corporation, but will add to the services the labs provide.
Opticote, Inc. President Bob Sypniewski understood the importance of aligning Opticote with P.O.G. Labs.
“Their team of expert, dedicated workers is second-to-none. I know they will always go the extra mile on each and every job,” Sypniewski said. “Our merger with Precision Optical Group Labs gives us the opportunity to continue our aggressive growth in and out of the optical industry.”
