Irene McNamara, 93, of Peoria, Ill., died April 10, 2014.
A funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Peoria Heights, Ill. Msgr. William Watson will officiate. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today at the church with recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. An additional visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Peoria, Ill. Wright and Salmon Mortuary in Peoria is in charge of arrangements. Irene L. McNamara, daughter of Frank N. and Mary Catherine Wickham, was born Oct. 17, 1920, in Creston.
On Sept. 17, 1940, Irene married Thomas Leo McNamara. He died Dec. 19, 1961.
Irene is survived by her children, Mary Irene (Lynn) Goble of Peoria, Ill., Thomas Joseph (Kathleen) McNamara of Savannah, Ga., Jane Mary (Rob) Bielenberg of Peoria, Ill., Joan Mary McNamara of Peoria, Ill., and Dennis Patrick (Tena) McNamara of Brimfield, Ill.; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Irene was preceded in death by her brothers, James Edward, Frank Joseph and Leo John Wickham; and sisters, Mary Elizabeth Wickham Dwyer and Francis Wickham Weaver.
