DENISON — The Creston/Orient-Macksburg bowling teams struggled with consistency as a team in the first meet back from break, as both Panther teams fell to Denison-Schleswig here on Saturday.
The boys suffered a 2835-2439 defeat, while the girls fell 2622-2199.
“Saturday’s meet at Denison was a wake up call,” head coach Ron Pendegraft said. “Denison has, without a doubt, a very good boys and girls team. We were a little flat after coming off of break, and did not have any real consistency.”
There was some individual success for the Panthers, however. Blake Eddy led the Panthers with a two-game total of 395, while Devon Eddy rolled a two-game score of 356, followed closely by Madison Hance’s 333.
“We did have some individuals who did well, but as a team, we just couldn’t put anything together,” Pendegraft said. “The strikes would just not fall for us and our spare shooting was also not up to expectations, having missed 38 single pins.”
The Panthers return to action on Saturday at Harlan, with bowling beginning at 1 p.m. They then return home for the Panther Tournament at Panther Lanes, beginning 1 pm. on Jan. 18.
The meet scheduled against Central Decatur on Feb. 1 has been moved to Pine Valley.
